The United Nations Association in Bulgaria has the pleasure to announce the national competition for the next official Bulgarian UN Youth Delegates and the Youth Delegate Coordination Team 2011-2012!
What & Why: 1 Year Youth Delegate Mandate
- To represent Bulgaria at the 66th session of the UN General Assembly in New York City
- To work alongside UN diplomats and Youth Delegates from all over the world on the global UN youth resolution
- To research & analyze current issues of Bulgarian youth and to become ambassador of youth matters at different forums
- To become the leader of a YD team with 1-year long mandate: to initiate, fundraise and organize a series of youth events in Bulgaria
- To organize the next YD campaign and train your successors
- To contribute to the unique initiative of youth participation in decision-making: less than 15% UN member states have a YD Program
- To leverage on the 5-year tradition of the Bulgarian YD Program and on the network of the oldest NGO institution in the country– the UN Association of Bulgaria
Who: 2 Official Youth Delegates of Bulgaria & Youth Delegate Coordination Team 2011-2012
If you:
- Are between 18-29 years of age
- Are active in youth activism and civil society sector
- Are conversant in youth matters and knowledgeable about the UN
- Are fluent in English & Bulgarian, possessing excellent public speaking & negotiation skills
- Have proven leadership & organizational skills & outstanding academic record
- Are a diplomat, self-starter, quick learner, inspiring leader and loyal team member
- Are present in Bulgaria for the whole mandate of 1 year and have the availability to devote most of your time to this cause!
& would like to join the Youth Delegate Coordination Team and
- To get the responsibility & freedom to plan and organize the youth agenda activities in the 1-year mandate! To get training & development opportunities as well as preferential access to the international YD network! To represent the YD platform at other international and national forums!
- To become our Coordinators in Fundraising; PR; IT & Digital Communications; Partner & Business Development; Event Management or just organize YOUR YD event!

3rd round*: Model UN Simulation in Sofia 30 April

4rd round*: Panel Interview with Jury Member s from Partner Institutions in Sofia 9 -13 May .
